Attractions within walking distance in Falmouth

Beaches

Falmouth's beaches are unsurpassed for quality and safety, with amenities like cafe, beach shop, surf board and diving hire. The three main beaches are Gyllyngvase, Swanpool, and Castle beach, these being just a short walk from the guest house. There is also Maenporth beach which is a short drive away. Close to Swanpool beach is the lake with its nature reserve for swan's, ducks and many types of birdlife.

Princess Pavillion

The Princess Pavillion is just a few minutes walk from Trevoil guest house. It has outstanding garden's with plenty of places to relax in the sun or shade. Offering good entertainment in the evening's with a variety of music styles to suit most tastes. Further down the garden's paths are the atmostpheric mixture of the Gyllyngdune Gardens with their unusual small shell caves with seats, and superb views of the ocean.

Maritime Museum

The Maritime Museum is a great way to experience the excitement and drama of the sea. Its interactive and dynamic multi-screen gallery produces an exciting blend of visual and sonic thrills. There is also many hands-on experiments and features like sailing your own radio controlled yacht or learning about the various aspects of old and modern sailing. You can watch the harbour from below see level or go up to the watch tower and view the coming's and going's of Falmouth's Port.

Ferries

Ferry trips are just a few minutes walk from Trevoil, exploring the river is a good way to see some of the areas of Falmouth that are not accessible by land, Hop on a ferry and explore St. Mawes town and its castle or maybe take the small ferry to Flushing which is just across the water from Falmouth. Don't forget a trip up the river and enjoy some breathtaking views!

Pendennis Castle

Pendennis Castle is 15 mins walk, The castle was built in the 1530's when Tudor King Henry VIII was under possible threat of attack from France and Spain. The castle has a discovery centre to allow visitors to explore, including displays with sound which really give an atmostphere of those times. Also their is access to the Second World War coastal defence armament.
